What is Going on Down There?

Yours Truly is not happy with MotoGP’s decision to ditch the iconic Philip Island circuit in favour for the Adelaide road circuit starting from 2027.

And he is worried that the move will have disastrous consequences.

Philip Island has been producing some of the best action for MotoGP throughout the years, and its undulating nature and wide-open layout make multiple racing lines possible, thus ensuring action-packed races.

Now that it will no longer feature in the MotoGP scene from 2027. To motor-racing fans like Yours Truly, it is simply mind-boggling.

And to make matters worse, the Australian GP will now move to the iconic Adelaide road circuit starting from 2027. It doesn’t take a genius to realise how dangerous motorcycling on road circuits can be.

Two circuits come to mind: Isle of Man and Macau, both known for having a substantial amount of motorcycling casualties, as a tiny mistake will pitch riders onto unprotected concrete walls at unabated speed.

Even though they say that the Adelaide road circuit will be heavily modified to ensure riders’ safety. Yours Truly hopes that the change will never happen.
